SXSW

Working at SXSW
Founded in 1987, the South by Southwest Music Conference and Festival has rapidly grown into an annual series of conferences and events featuring new music, film, and interactive media. With the help of its loyal volunteers and over 2,000 devoted speakers and performers, SXSW has established itself as one of the largest—and most prestigious—music and media festivals in the world.

A Future Out West
Reinventing itself each year with fresh performances and fantastic speakers, SXSW is always looking for new ways to make each festival better than the last. With an ever-expanding list of new features and perspectives—including recently formed conferences focused on education, innovative start-ups, and environmental awareness—SXSW continues to bring people together to collaborate and to create new visions.

The Power Of Passion
At SXSW, employees are given the freedom to take their most creative ideas and run with them. With that freedom, however, comes an obligation to put in the effort to produce festivals of epic proportions. Luckily, SXSW employees and volunteers are passionate about what they do, and they know that their long hours will pale in comparison to the thrill of pulling off an amazing year.
Hands-On Internships
The majority of SXSW’s employees started out as volunteers and seasonal workers, so SXSW volunteers are anything but your typical coffee handlers and paper pushers. To make the most of their SXSW experience, volunteers and interns are encouraged to take an active role in finding and tackling work that needs to be done and creating their own unique places within the SXSW community.
