Surprises In Sydney
Cubicles are non-existent at Sydney HQ—instead, the office space design is open and collaborative, evidenced by its mobile workspaces, glass windows, and abundance of whiteboards. The office features a fully-stocked kitchen, game room, conference rooms named after famous neighbors—like Flanders and Urkel—and even a hidden speakeasy where Atlassians can treat themselves to beer and wine at happy hour.
In It To Ship
ItShipIt is a quarterly tradition at all of Atlassian’s offices, but Sydney’s competition is always especially impressive. Each ShipIt, Atlassians have 24 hours to build a solution for a product, the company, or the greater world—and then they create 3-minute lightning talks to present their projects to the entire company. The audience votes for a winner via mobile app—a product of a previous ShipIt—and winners get the glory of company-wide bragging rights.
