How You Can Very Easily Avoid the Most Common Resume Mistakes
Don't become a victim to these common blunders.

You submit your resume and cross your fingers hoping that yours—yes, yours—will be the one to catch the eye of the hiring manager. Even though you know that it’s just one of the hundreds of other resumes submitted from who-knows-where.

While some people will make lasting impressions because their resumes have all the right elements—concise bullet points with powerful verbs displayed on a beautiful template—other people will only catch the recruiter’s eye because they fell victim to a common resume blunder.

Thankfully, it’s easy to avoid these mistakes and make sure that your chance of landing your dream job isn’t eliminated in the first round of the application process. Check out the following infographic to see what the top resume fails are, and how to steer clear of them.

A board member of Columbia Organization of Rising Entrepreneurs, Kat is either hosting inspiring founders or trekking across cities (Silicon Valley and London, anyone?) to discover the hottest startups. And, when she’s not putting together large-group gatherings for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship, Kat is planning food excursions to discover the best Taiwanese beef noodle soup in NYC. The only thing she loves almost as much as crafting content as an Editorial Intern at The Muse is studying content as an English Major at Columbia University. Say hi on Twitter @katxmoon.
