Role : Site Reliability Engineer

Location : London

The ideal SRE is e xpected to drive and contribute to research, design, documentation, and modifications to software specifications throughout the production life cycle with optimal technical solutions across the Cloud Infrastructure platforms stack and also Work with the Engineering, Product, Delivery and Architecture teams to ensure that appropriate attention is given to 'Reliability Engineering'.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design SRE Roadmap, on board SRE team, perform SRE pilot and support SRE run phase
  • Implement SRE best practices. Facilitate discussion and agreement on Error Budget/SLI/SLO for applications
  • As a key member of the team, ensure success in Designing, Developing, Implementing and Maintenance of IT solutions for Clients within an agile development lifecycle.
  • Participate in architectural discussions and design exercises to create large scale solutions built on either AWS/Azure/GCP and be part of the development lifecycle.
  • Contribute to planning, design, implementation, testing, operations and process improvement.
  • Develops high-quality, efficient, IaaS and PaaS components to meet business requirements and in accordance with industry best practices.
  • Identify components of the application susceptible to service failure, performance, stability, & scalability issues.
  • Drive cloud security and compliance requirements into the cloud architecture framework, including for the data integration points with on-premise and other cloud systems.
  • Define and document the cloud reference architecture and drive its implementation across all the cloud components.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex business and technology problems
  • Generates statistics and prepares reports for management and/or team members on the status of the project.
  • Strong customer focus, ownership, ability to dive deep into customer requirements, navigate through ambiguity and undefined problems.

  • Must have experience in creation of Dashboards and tracking infra/application performance metrics
  • Must have experience in creating Alerts based on infra/application performance metrics.
  • Must have experience in proactive resolution of issues and should be able to quote specific examples.
  • Dynatrace and Splunk- have experience in a tool like Dynatrace in addition to Splunk.
  • Must have created application deployment pipeline using Jenkins.
  • Must understand the different stages - Build, Unit Test, Functional Test, Sonar Scan, Deployment, Artifactory Upload
  • Must have experience in configuration management tools like Chef/Ansible.
  • If experienced in Chef/similar tool, must be able to explain recipe details - resources used to automate
  • If experienced in Ansible - must be able to explain the playbooks created along with the steps.
