  • Classification of requirements; Domain Knowledge; User stories concepts; Functional / Non-Functional Requirements; Scoping and Estimation
  • To analyze the requirements/updates/modifications for alignment with business objectives and priorities.
  • Articulate the impact of the proposed solution on business and its ability to address requirements.
  • Mediate conflicting requirements of the various stakeholders. Guide teams to assess feasibility of new requirements.
  • Prioritize the product/solution requirements to drive creation of Minimum viable Product (MVP) to meet the core requirements.
  • Proactively identify areas for product enhancements, new features and updates based on customer requirements/ feedback.
  • Contribute to the creation of user stories for complex requirements across the domain (For agile methodology). Direct and guide scoping for epics and user stories, make decisions on tradeoffs
    To explore relevant products/solutions from an existing repertoire, which can address business/technical needs.
  • Assess gaps/ updates/ modifications between the customer/business expectations and the existing product/solutions (in case of agile methodology, for the iteration).
  • Classify the requirements into applicable types (For example - Functional/Non-Functional, Derived/Imposed/Emergent etc.).
  • Anticipate the solution risks / issues during requirements gathering phase, inform relevant stakeholders and recommend corrective steps.
  • Contribute to the creation of user stories for component/ application/ complex (For agile methodology).

What you'll bring:

  • To be a technical lead, design, develop and lead multiple Business or Technology driven projects with small to medium sized teams to support new functionalities and user experiences.
  • Play a pivotal role in shaping architectural decisions, championing scalable and efficient solutions to meet present and future needs.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert to provide technical leadership and mentorship to your teammates, other teams and engineers.
  • Take ownership, lead and contribute across the technical stack to improve speed of delivery, developer productivity and related goals.
  • Drive Availability, Quality, Performance, and Resiliency related goals with your team.
  • Demonstrate craftsmanship and produce high quality software that is unit tested, code reviewed and checked in regularly for continuous integration.
  • Investigate and build proof-of-concept prototypes utilizing new technologies and drive their adoption within the mainstream product.
  • Identify, leverage, and successfully evangelize opportunities to improve engineering productivity, product quality and efficiency.
  • Build, leverage, and analyze tools, application logs, and analytics data to determine improvements to the product and engineering services.
  • Set high standards for operational excellence and system observability.
  • Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and inclusivity within the team.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science and 8+ years' experience in software engineering OR Master of Science and 3 years' experience in software engineering
  • 8 years of experience with developing and supporting complex systems using Java of programming language
  • 6+ years of experience with Java/JEE, Spring Framework
  • 6+ years of experience with Spark, Scala. Airflow
  • 6+ years of experience with Databases: Relational (Azure SQL Server, Postgres),
  • 6+ years of experience with Cloud: Azure/GCP Cloud Platform, Cloud Storage
  • 6+ years of experience with micro-services architectures, event-based architecture (Kafka), Kubernetes, Docker)
  • Monitoring & Alerting: Dynatrace, Splunk etc.
  • CI/CD experience
  • Experience with TDD and automated testing frameworks
  • Experience with DevOps
  • Experience working in a KPI driven highly agile environment

Preferred Requirements:

  • Experience with big data technologies
  • Retail/Supply Chain and Replenishment experience

Solution Design:
Requires knowledge of:
Software architecture; Distributed systems; Scalability; Design patterns; Disaster Recovery; Tech Stacks; Minimum Viable Product- MVP; Non-Functional Requirements; Detailed Design
To assist in creation of simple, modular, extensible and functional design for the product/solution in adherence to the requirements. Evaluate trade-offs while designing across multiple components in a product based on the business requirements. Convert HLD to create detailed design using mock screens, pseudo codes and detailed functional logic of the modules for specific modules / components of a product. Understand nuances of designing for disaster recovery. Design and create MVP to clarify requirements and design and uncover risks. Independently refine the MVP design for early defects and revised customer requirements.

Coding:
Requires knowledge of:
Coding standards and guidelines; Coding languages (E.g. Java, Python), frameworks(E.g. Spark, Scala, Spring, Spring-boot etc.), and Platforms (E.g. Microsoft Azure, GCP); Quality, Safety and Security (PCI etc.) standards; Emerging tools and technologies; Telemetry; CI / CD; Code Management Tools; SDLC; Secure SDL frameworks and tools
To create/configure simple, testable, maintainable code for entire component/application and ensure the components are meeting business/technical requirements, non-functional requirements, low-maintainability, high-availability and high-scalability needs. Assist in the selection of appropriate languages, development standards and tools for software coding/configuration. Take initiative to learn the fundamentals of different coding languages and frameworks that would be useful for future scope of work. Build scripts for automation of repetitive and routine tasks in CI/CD (Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery), Testing or any other process (as applicable). Implement telemetry features as required independently. Ensure security policy requirements are properly applied to components/application during code development/configuration.

Testing:
Requires knowledge of:
Test case preparation; Test Objectives; Test Strategy; Test types; Test tools (Automation - Selenium, Agile - Jira); Test Environment; Root cause analysis; Code Coverage; Test Coverage.
To map the customer requirements in to test objectives. Identify and create test cases for the component/module. Execute test cases to test the code and detect errors and defects for the entire component by leveraging relevant test automation techniques. Execute different types of testing using appropriate testing tools based on the testing needs.

Program metrics:
Requires knowledge of :
Program metrics; Program Reporting, logging tools and processes; Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CICD)
To provide support to relevant stakeholders to drive adherence to performance metrics of the program for different projects. Take appropriate measures when required to bring program health on track in case of adversity. Provide inputs to improve the throughput, efficiency, and effectiveness of programs. Manage CICD through tracking and reviewing deployment schedules and guiding team throughout the process.

Defect Management and Troubleshooting:
Requires knowledge of:
Defect life-cycle process, defect tracking tools and methodologies; Defect reporting; Regression testing; Root cause analysis; Root cause corrective action.
To conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and root cause corrective action (RCCA) to identify the origin of defects/ performance gaps and prevent them from recurring. Track registered issues for the product/solution and prioritize them for resolution. Measure usability of the product/solution as per customer/business requirement after defect fixing and plugging test gaps. Analyze the issues and plan a series of steps which potentially includes reconfiguration, integration, removal or addition of application components to enhance the application's functionality, usability and security.

DevOps Orientation:
Requires knowledge of:
Different operating systems; Software maintenance tools and techniques; Application monitoring tools and techniques; Debugging tools; Mock screen; Pseudocodes; Reverse Engineering; Traceability matrix; System performance, security, integration; Data migration and accessibility; Design Methodologies; Telemetry.
To define the metrics to be tracked for effective monitoring of application performance. Lead application maintenance (corrective, adaptive, perfective) and re-engineering plans and activities and the development of documentation and training material. Drive application changes and enhancements, lead problem identification, technical impact analysis of maintenance activities.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00-$220,000.00

Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
