Ward Position
- Buffalo Grove, IL
Veterinary Specialty Center is looking for a self-motivated, professional individual to join our team in a 24/7 environment. This is a physically demanding, full time, entry level position which requires responsibility and emotional maturity.
Being a successful employee in the ward (and at VSC in general) means one thing: striving to understand and encompass VSC’s five core values.
Be Amazing
In the ward, this means taking every aspect of your workday seriously. Whether you are helping a client lift a patient into a car, restraining for a bandage change, or even doing something as simple as disinfecting a cage, an amazing employee will complete every task diligently and understand its importance.
Cultivate Opportunity
As many former and current ward attendants know, working an entry level position in this hospital opens up numerous career paths and opportunities. However, the only way to fully benefit from these opportunities is through a willingness to learn and the aid of those who are willing to teach. Taking advantage of everything VSC has to offer is up to you.
Working Together
Every employee at VSC needs help from their coworkers in some way. Every day, ward employees help and are helped by technicians, doctors, clients, and other ward attendants in multiple areas of the hospital. Employees giving, accepting, and appreciating help makes our hospital run smoothly and ensures our patients receive the best possible care.
With Love
Hopefully, wanting to be a part of the VSC team means you already feel passionate towards the wellbeing of animals. Compassion should always be the driving force behind every interaction with a patient, client, or coworker. Doing your job with love means being empathetic, careful, and honest.
Common Sense
Think before you act and speak! If there is a doubt that an action could go against the core values, rethink it or ask for advice. Be honest and be safe.
Put simply, following these core values makes for an employee that is honest, caring, patient, hard working, involved, and always willing to improve.
