At Thermo Fisher Scientific in Eindhoven, we develop and assemble highly sophisticated electron microscopes. These instruments help save lives by making viruses and materials visible at the nanometer level.

About the Role and Work Environment

Our electron microscopes take 6 to 9 months to produce. As an assembler, you will be responsible for one or more steps in the production process. You will receive all the training necessary to perform your tasks correctly and efficiently. You will be paired with a buddy who will guide you and help you get settled in. Since you'll be working in a cleanroom environment, you'll need to focus on precision and cleanliness at all times.

Ready to Make an Impact?

Your work directly contributes to the creation of a high-tech product that advances science and saves lives. Did you know our electron microscopes are used to study viruses and help save lives?

You'll be part of a team of 15-20 colleagues, among which both Dutch and English speakers. The work atmosphere is friendly, with plenty of opportunities to socialize outside of work. Everyone supports each other - we succeed together! Thermo Fisher regularly organizes informal activities, giving you the chance to connect with colleagues across departments.

A Day in the Life:

  • You will work day shifts, starting between 07:00 and 09:00 AM. After a quick break to get settled, you'll change into your cleanroom suit and enter the cleanroom.
  • You will have a daily whiteboard meeting with your team, where, under the guidance of your supervisor, you'll discuss the schedule, any potential issues, and any questions.
  • You collaborate within a diverse team of 15-20 people.
  • You are proactively identifying and resolving system issues, working alongside your colleagues, troubleshooters, and operations engineers.

Education:

  • MBO level 3 or 4 diploma (Vocational- or Secondary Vocational Education).

Career Path:

Are you looking to grow in the technology field? Many of our colleagues have started with no technical background and worked their way up, from hospitality workers to lead assemblers and from healthcare professionals to supervisors. We take the time to guide you and help you grow in a direction that suits your interests and skills.

Experience:

  • Preferred: some work experience, especially in a technical field, is a plus, but not required.
  • Preferred: experience working in a cleanroom environment.
  • Preferred: experience with testing sophisticated systems.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • A strong curiosity about technology.
  • Enjoyment of hands-on work.
  • An open, eager-to-learn attitude; you want to understand and apply new concepts.
  • Ability to stay focused, work accurately, and pay attention to detail.
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt when things don't go as planned.
  • A phenomenal team player who looks beyond individual tasks and responsibilities.
  • Ambition to learn and grow within the technology field.
  • As we work in an international environment, a good command of English (both spoken and written) is required to follow work instructions.

You will primarily work in a cleanroom environment, wearing a cleanroom suit.
