Job Description

Field Service Engineer SEM/SDB/ XPS (m/f/d) Czechia Prague / Brno

Discover impactful work as an Engineer III, Field Service with Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. in Czechia. This role is uniquely positioned to contribute to our world-class team by ensuring flawless service and support of our advanced scientific equipment.

A Day in the Life:

  • Perform remote and on-site fixing, repair, and installation of our Electron Microscope and XPS portfolio.
  • Provide on-site training relative to maintenance and basic operation.
  • Keep track and maintain local spare parts inventory.
  • Dispatch third-party service providers for on-site work and follow up to ensure problems were resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
  • Actively monitor the status of customer contracts. Track and schedule on-site PM visits.
  • Ensure that all documentation related to service support activity is completed accurately and submitted on a timely basis. This includes Field Service Reports, Service Work Orders, and Quotes.

Keys to Success:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technical or scientific field (engineering or physics) is required.
  • Applicants must possess knowledge of Electron Microscopy. A full Electron Microscopy education or equivalent experience is required.
  • 5+ years of service experience in a related scientific, technical, and/or customer-facing role desired.
  • Must demonstrate excellent judgment in customer relations and in managing company resources.
  • Strong proficiency in instrument systems technology, including electrical, mechanics, chemistry, and software technology.
  • Experience with electronics, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Fluent in English and preferably Czech language. German language knowledge is a bonus.

- Ability to travel internationally up to 30% - 50%.
