Senior Business Operations Analyst, HIMCO

The ideal candidate is a highly motivated Senior Business Operations Analyst with fixed income investment management experience and a strong background in Investment Operations and Reconciliations.

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in the Hartford, CT office 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

This position is within HIMCO Business Operations, which is responsible for the comprehensive operational support of HIMCO's Investment Operating Platform including the underlying Investment (IBOR) and Accounting (ABOR) Book of Record. This Business Operations role will be in the Asset Reconciliation and Control team.

WHAT ARE THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION?

This position works closely with various teams across HIMCO, including the Front-Office, Information Technology, and our Business Operations teammates. The responsibilities include:

  • Performing and analyzing position reconciliations between internal HIMCO systems and external custodian banks.
  • Administration and maintenance of Insurance State Deposits.
  • SOC1/SOX/Audit related testing and/or coordination.
  • Participating in the creation and on-going maintenance of all investment portfolios.
  • Establishing and maintaining strong relationships with custodial banks, and other external parties and always representing HIMCO in a professional manner.
  • Strive for continuous process improvement to fully utilize system capabilities, implement new tools, and streamline processes.
  • Develop and maintain detailed procedures and evidence of process controls to cross-train peers and support requests from auditors.
  • Partnering with IT and Vendors/Service providers on automation and process improvements

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • BS/BA/MBA or related experience in Finance, Accounting or Business, or related fields.
  • 5+ years' experience in investment related position, reconciliations and with audit work.
  • Broad understanding of equity and fixed income trading/products and investment operations processes.
  • Experience with or working knowledge of Aladdin and a proficiency in MS Office Applications.
  • Strong verbal/written communication skills; must be able to communicate effectively at all levels across the organization.
  • Must be a team player, problem solver, critical thinker, self-motivated and possess integrity and a strong work ethic.
  • Proactive ownership of issues; willing to recommend solutions and take charge to resolve.
  • Ability to resolve medium-to-high complexity issues, work concurrent tasks, meet tight deadlines, work independently and easily adapt to changing priorities.

If you will be deemed to be a "Covered Associate" under HIMCO's Pay to Play Policy, you will also need to disclose all political contributions that you have given within the past 2 calendar years.

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday) and remote on Mondays and Fridays.

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

102,160 - 153,240

The posted salary range reflects our ability to hire at different position titles and levels depending on background and experience.
