Job Description
Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children (PRHC), operated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health (DPH), seeks an experienced and compassionate Registered Nurse III to coordinate clinical nursing and administrative activities for the Specialty Care Department and Employee Health programs. This role is pivotal in ensuring high-quality care for patients and supporting staff health initiatives.
Please Note: The hours for this position are 8:00 - 4:30pm Monday-Friday.
Employees in this position will be required to perform "mandatory overtime.
Duties and Responsibilities

- Coordinate and oversee daily clinical and administrative operations of the Specialty Care Department.
- Supervise clinic staff, provide guidance, and conduct performance reviews.
- Assist PRHC Providers and consultants with patient assessments and procedures.
- Manage the hospital's vaccine program for patients and staff, ensuring accurate reporting through the Massachusetts Immunization Information System (MIIS).
- Oversee the onboarding process and ensure compliance with state health requirements for new employees.
- Maintain employee health records, ensure regulatory compliance with screening policies, and respond to workplace injuries.
- Provide fit testing and contact tracing during infectious disease outbreaks.
- Supervise the preparation and transportation of lab specimens and collaborate with external laboratories.
- Participate in performance improvement initiatives to enhance services in the Specialty Department and Employee Health programs.
Required Qualifications
- Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
- At least one year of full-time (or equivalent part-time) experience as a registered nurse in a hospital, clinic, or medical facility, with at least six months in a supervisory or managerial role.
- Knowledge of nursing principles, emergency medical procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
- Strong organizational and supervisory skills.
- Ability to remain calm and exercise sound judgment in stressful or emergency situations.
- Knowledge of patient care documentation, including Electronic Health Records (EHR).

Pappas Rehabilitation Hospital for Children (PRHC) located in Canton, MA is a Joint Commission Accredited, 90+ bed pediatric hospital predominately serving children and young adults (ages 8-22) operated by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health. The mission of PRHC is to provide medical, rehabilitative, educational, recreational, habilitative, transitional, and complementary alternative medical services to children and young adults with multiple disabilities, assisting them to achieve their optimal level of independence in all aspects of life. PRHC offers coordinated medical care and therapies in a hospital-based environment, as well as, K-12 schooling, located on the grounds. Educational Services are provided by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. In addition, PRHC offers a wide variety of recreational opportunities such as swimming, horseback riding, adaptive sports, and many opportunities for socialization for disabled children and young adults.

Qualifications

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:
Applicants must have at least (A) one year of full-time or equivalent part-time, experience as a registered nurse in a recognized hospital, clinic or medical facility, and (B) six months of which must have been in a supervisory, administrative or managerial capacity.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL LEVELS IN SERIES: Current and valid registration as a professional nurse under the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing.
Recent graduates from an approved school of nursing must have applied for the first available registered nurse examination.
Based on assignment, possession of a current and valid Massachusetts Motor Vehicle Operator's license may be required.
