Position Overview:

The Human Resources Department is a customer service unit is a small that works together as a team in charge with overseeing and processing all EOED's agency personnel activities where an essential function is communicating, oral and/or written, to deliver a professional and timely manner with a customer service focus. The incumbent creates and reviews all new hire packets for full time and intern employees to ensure the success of all agencies' bi-weekly New Hire Orientation, updates agency's organizational charts, responsible for updating and maintaining HR Intranet under the direction of the Director of HR Operations, serves as back-up to the HR Generalist, provides administrative task support to EED's Executive Assistant included but not limited to answering telephone calls and mail distribution.

DUTIES AND RESPOSIBILITIES:

Employment & Staffing:

  • Prepares all agencies New Hire Orientation packets
  • Updates organizational charts to reflect new reporting structure
  • Responsible for all EOED's agencies personnel file maintenance
  • Responsible for updating and maintaining the EOED's HR Intranet
  • Conduct New Hire Orientation as needed

Payroll:

  • Generates employee reports related to new hires, salaries, reports to, medical leaves, time and attendance, etc.
  • Maintain current knowledge of HR/CMS, Warehouse (CIW), attends periodic training, participates in appropriate user groups meeting

Reception:

  • Provides support to EED's administrative tasks as needed, this includes responding to all incoming phone calls properly direct calls, mail or in-person inquiries to proper personnel.

Participates in any ad-hoc or special projects

Performs additional duties as needed

Qualifications

First consideration will be given to those applicants that apply within the first 14 days.

MINIMUM ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must have at least (A) two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, professional or paraprofessional experience in personnel work, the major duties of which includes classification, staffing, job analysis and/or job evaluation, or (B) any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below.

Substitutions:

I. An Associate's degree may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.

II. A Bachelor's degree or higer may be substituted for the required experience

Education toward such a degree will be prorated on the basis of the proportion of the requirements actually completed.
