Job Description
The Dr. John C. Corrigan Mental Health Center is seeking a candidate to clean/disinfect areas to ensure the safety, health and morale of patients, visitors, and employees by helping to provide a sanitary and attractive environment.
Please Note: This position is 40 hours per week. The selected candidate will work first shift, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. The days off will be Friday and Saturday.
Duties and Responsibilities (these duties are a general summary and not all inclusive):
- Cleans floors daily, by dry mopping and washing using appropriate supplies and equipment to maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the areas.
- Cleans/disinfects patient bathing and living areas daily to maintain a clean, sanitary area. General Public areas and offices are washed and disinfected on a daily basis.
- Removes trash from the premises for general collection, recycling, or incineration on a daily basis, disinfecting receptacles as needed (i.e. paper towel holder, soap dispenser, trash can, etc.); empties trash and replenishes paper goods & soap as needed.
- Washes walls, windows (inside), in offices, rest rooms and corridors with appropriate housekeeping supplies to ensure a clean, healthy, and sanitized environment for the general work area as needed.
- Cleans; moves and relocates furniture/equipment for better utilization of space.
- Sweeps: washes/disinfect stairwells assigned on a weekly basis.
- Dust mop floors, strips wax off floors with stripper, rinses, and then apply wax and sealer when needed.
- Receiving of incoming goods, dispensing and delivery of supplies throughout the Center and State Residential Group Living Environments.
- Maintains clean and organized supply closets.
- Review's policies and procedures to ensure adherence to State and Center guidelines.
- Attends mandatory classes as required by Staff Development. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the age related and cultural needs of the clients/patients served.
- Performs all other duties as required.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Applicants must have at least six months of full-time equivalent, part time experience in building custodial or institutional housekeeping work.
