Job Overview

TE Connectivity's Manufacturing Engineering Teams are process leaders for stamping, molding or assembly related topics, ensuring the processes are running at optimum levels for quality and output. They are experts in mold tooling, die tooling, machining, and assembly techniques, possessing extensive knowledge of the associated manufacturing processes which may include the optimization and standardization of stamping / molding / assembly or other processes within the manufacturing environment. Manufacturing Engineering Teams enable the TE business unit plants to reach TE Operating Advantage (TEOA) requirements, roll out Centers of Excellence (COE), Best Demonstrated Practices (BDP's) and advise plants on tool and machine duplications / corrections / improvements. They design and develop manufacturing process and automation platforms and apply them for the realization of new product developments as well as optimization of existing products already in production. The Teams also support Product Development in the selection and optimization of tools for piece part production and the selection of the most suitable manufacturing concepts relative to planned manufacturing quantities, quality requirements and manufacturing location. They act as interface between engineering and production to ensure manufacturability of new designs and smooth production ramp up as well as support the research & development teams to produce sample manufacturing equipment, product samples and prototypes.

Tasks and Responsibilities

Provide hands on day-to-day manufacturing support to Manufacturing; CNC Machining, Anodising, Assembly Processes and Testing

Delivery of Projects to support capacity increase, product sustaining, New Product Introduction, Migration or process improvements to drive site productivity

Collate and analyse data to provide solutions to Production and Technical problems, including justifications and payback calculations to support CAPITAL investment projects

Ensure all Process Controls including documentation, Machine Recipes, BOM & Routes, PFMEA and Specifications are in place and up to date

Ensure all process changes are controlled and appropriately documented according to business procedures, including Customer and Agency Notifications

Ensure customer complaints are answered and resolved with robust solutions within business time frames

Ensure all activities are carried out safely, safe working practices are always maintained, and any additional hazards correctly identified and reported in an expedient timeframe.

Support the Technical, Planning and Production managers through regular communication of project plans, ideas and delivery.

Lead and facilitate an improvement culture to achieve Continuous Improvement Targets

Address in process quality issues and non-conformances in production

Attend daily Operations meetings and assist in the resolution of day-to-day business issues

What your background should look like:

HNC or Degree Qualified in an Engineering Discipline or equivalent

Demonstrable time served experience in a Manufacturing Engineering Role, and hands on practical experience working with Machinery and Processes

Any experience in Machining, Anodising, Assembly, Harness Building or Electrical Testing advantageous, or willingness to learn through available and on the job training

Knowledge and understanding of Aerospace regulations, with no personal restrictions for working in Defense Regulated areas

Strong Organisation, Project Planning and Execution, with ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written

Confidence to make fast paced and information driven decisions

Ability to work independently or as part of a team, and flexibility to work on several projects and prioritise activities

Strong understanding of MRP systems, preferably SAP, and MS applications

Six Sigma and 8D qualified; Green belt level or above desirable but not essential

Enthusiastic, driven and self-motivated individual with a positive attitude towards driving change
