The Data Operations and Strategy Team (DOST) group is responsible for providing business and technology solutions for our Finance and Risk business partners. This role will directly support the Risk, Finance and Treasury Data Repositories (RDR and FTDR) and other similar projects in the financial services domain. This position will provide an excellent opportunity to interact with many different business areas within the bank from Global Treasury to Global Markets.

Your new role

The Business Analyst will perform business/systems analysis for various Finance, Risk & Treasury projects for DOST. This individual will liaise with the stakeholders and other divisions within State Street to ensure the delivery of quality products within the expected timeframes. This individual must demonstrate subject matter understanding ability to perform business analysis and create documentation that ensures that our development solutions are successfully implemented.

As Business Analyst you will be responsible for:

  • Monitoring Data Quality of Risk, Finance and Treasury Data Repositories
  • Maintaining and developing Data Quality Framework built on the basis of MS Lists and BI Tools - TIBCO Spotfire, and Power BI
  • Supporting Business Partners repository consumers in their operational processes as well as ensuring timely and accurate data required for their usage
  • Providing subject matter expertise in financial balance sheet products and in the required application
  • Resolving upstream and downstream issues inquired by data consumers, acting as a bridge between business and IT to ensure successful issue resolution,
  • Preparing and maintaining documentation, such as SOPs and data mapping,
  • Participating in the preparation and execution of comprehensive, end to end data testing
  • Being an active participant of the continues improvement initiatives aiming to increase the team's productivity through appropriate analysis and re-engineering business processes,
  • Status reporting on assigned tasks.
  • Being an active member during monthly/daily GL (General Ledger) reconciliation process

Skills and experience needed to perform this function:

  • 5+ years of working experience in a financial institution in a data-centric project environment,
  • Understanding of Finance, risk and regulatory business functions is preferred
  • Experience in using BI Tools - TIBCO Spotfire or Power BI in creating dashboards and data profiling will be an additional advantage,
  • SQL strongly preferred,
  • Python will be an additional advantage,
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills on Windows including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel (including Power Query, Power Pivot), Word and Visio,
  • Knowledge of LEAN techniques,
  • Ability to take ownership and initiative, be accountable and proactive, and work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in English is a must.
