Collins Aerospace is currently seeking qualified candidates for a co-op software engineer in our Business & Regional Avionics Flight Management Systems department located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Teams are composed of cross-functional engineers working in an Agile environment (approximately 6-10 people) focused on the design and development of software-only products. Fusion FMS is our latest deployed Flight Management product, leveraging the latest in integrated avionics systems of our Pro Line Fusion product line to support a range of customers across a variety of platforms around the globe. Here's a link to more details specific to Pro Line Fusion:

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session that will run from June-December 2025 (this includes the Fall semester; it is expected that students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity).

What You Will Do:

  • Expectations include participating in a cross-functional team daily and coordinating regularly with engineering and project management to ensure success of the product and program.

What You Will Learn:

  • Learn software design, development, and verification for Collins ProLine Fusion Flight Management Systems.
  • Understand the DO-178 process.
  • Gain domain knowledge by contributing to software life cycle artifacts.
  • Collaborate in a team environment and build your network.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and student must be pursuing a Bachelor's or advanced degree in an applicable discipline.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
