Overview
The Food Safety and Sanitation Supervisor is responsible for overall "Audit Readiness at all Times". This position will lead the plant in GMP/FS accountability. The role has site wide impact as owner of Food Safety Systems. This role will ensure compliance to OSHA chemical hygiene plan and proper laboratory safety practices. It will include but not limited to involving all employees in an effective safety program; provide training, periodic review of hazards, and timely correction of hazardous situations. This role requires regular presence on the plant floor and may require off-shift and weekend work to address any GMP/FS training or compliance gaps.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for GMP Program and plant audit readiness at all times
- FSMA training and corrective actions for any PC gaps
- Facilitate Plant GMP & Food Safety annual trainings
- Preparation for FSSC, AIB, QAS and Regulatory audits
- Lead Monthly Food Safety Team Meetings
- Management of the Sanitation Team including schedule, performance and training
- Responsible for people and team development, sanitation performance and results, cost, service, and safety
- Develop individuals and the team to solve operational issues
- Organize and facilitate team meetings to achieve continuous improvement process

Key Responsibilities:
- Develop team and solve day-to-day issues to reach short and long term performance goals
- Manage Food Safety Paperwork and close operational gaps
- Manage weekly GMP Zone audits and communicate gaps/resolutions
- Communicate cross-functionality to assist team to solve issues
- Motivate team members to achieve plan goals
- Organize and facilitate work team meetings (examples, pre-shift, roundtables etc.)
- Owner of food safety plan and hazard analysis, identifying risks and preventing hazards
- Manage CIP and microbiological results and/or review
- Weekly review signoff on microbiological paperwork
- Work with QC Manager, QC Supervisors, and QC Admin to keep Food Safety Plan up-to-date and train to any changes
Compensation and Benefits:
- The expected compensation range for this position is between $66,300 - $111,000.
- Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range during the hiring process.
- Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 8% of annual salary paid out annually.
- Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree preferably in sciences or business
- Working knowledge of FSMA requirements preferred
- Knowledge of Global Food Safety Initiative (AIB/FSSC/FDA standards)
- HACCP certified is preferred
- Demonstrated leadership ability
- Project management skills
- 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing
