This position provides on-site low observable technical expertise and support to personnel maintaining and operating the B-2 Stealth Bomber. This role will also serve as a liaison to the government B-2 engineering authority at Tinker AFB, Oklahoma and supporting Northrop Grumman B-2 engineering organizations.
Duties and responsibilities include:

Integrate into a high tempo military operational environment

* Identify technical issues and recommend solutions to support repair disposition process and technical data updates through research of Air Force technical data, prior engineering support requests, Northrop Grumman engineering drawings, B-2 process specifications and other sources

* Document maintenance activities, collate data to identify emerging failure trends and provide recommendations to reduce aircraft down time, improve maintenance practices and advise on low observable (LO) and structures system maintenance tasks

* Have knowledge and background in the field of Radio Frequency (RF) diagnostic and verification techniques for maintaining LO aircraft

* Contribute to technical and logistics support activities and provide periodic status to customers and program management team

* Assist customer with resolving complex aircraft maintenance discrepancies / anomalies. Apply comprehensive technical expertise to solve complex problems

* Provide expertise in the operation of aircraft ground support equipment and tools used to perform aircraft maintenance tasks

* Develop expertise in structures and aircraft systems to provide support to the customer across multiple engineering disciplines

* Ensure that support and maintenance operations are performed in accordance with policies and procedures set forth by governing regulatory documents to include tool control, quality, safety, aircraft maintenance documentation, etc.

* Support program technical interchange meetings and program plans development relating to problem analysis, aircraft upgrades, engineering dispositions, and relevant Northrop Grumman technical studies and support

* Engage with aircraft maintainers at all levels on a regular basis to resolve maintenance issues that would otherwise lead to aircraft downtime

* Perform analysis on LO data to identify component and system performance trends, identify component defects, and contribute to root cause analysis

* Participate in various process teams and ad hoc groups to develop or update technical data, repair timelines, etc.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline AND 9 years of related low observable engineering experience, OR a Master's degree AND 7 years of low observable engineering experience, OR a minimum of 13 years of low observable experience in lieu of degree

* Strong verbal skills for communicating technical issues with aircraft maintenance technicians, supervisors, maintenance leadership, and engineer

* Strong written skills for writing reports, documenting technical concepts, and communicating technical issues in written form

* Must be a US Citizen and have an active DoD Secret security clearance (or higher) and the ability to obtain additional B-2 program clearances within a reasonable time to meet program requirement

Preferred Qualifications

Expertise in low observables related B-2 technical data (Air Force T.O.s, Northrop Grumman engineering and process specifications, etc.)

* Expertise in B-2 low observable materials

* Current or previous B-2 program clearance

Salary Range: $89,900 - $134,900
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
