Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) - located outside of Baltimore, Maryland - where we design, manufacture, and test semiconductor products for internal and commercial production customers as well as emerging technology programs. Northrop Grumman's ATL semiconductor foundry is a unique capability supporting a range of production microelectronic devices (Silicon, Gallium Arsenide, Gallium Nitride, and Silicon Carbide) and providing leading edge technology development in Superconducting Electronics and SLCFET. Our devices enable several Northrop Grumman's ground-based radars, avionic radars, and space systems.

Our multidisciplinary foundry team enables activities from development to sustainment process engineering. ATL is responsible for all aspects of semiconductor technology including design, mask making, wafer fabrication, test, and assembly. The candidate must be a strong team participant, have excellent communication skills, and be resourceful and multi-talented. A strong understanding of semiconductor technology and microelectronic process engineering is essential.

Job Summary:
The position of
Special Projects Manager, reports directly to the Senior manager of ATL.
Do you have experience being a Team leader and enjoy working with a high-performance team? Do you enjoy managing a diverse portfolio of projects, along with mentoring and coaching others? If so, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking you to work at our Advanced Technology Lab (ATL) located outside of Baltimore, Maryland, MD manufacturing site.
We're hiring a Special Projects Manager to support the business needs of managing for end-to-end major capital project implementation and project results that achieve business objectives, while complying with standard work practices. You will partner with various stakeholders such as technology, maintenance, and operations as well as Global Supply Chain to bring maximum value to the business through effective leadership of cost and capital project planning and implementation process. Additionally, you will work directly with the vendors/OEM to establish support and service contracts to cover the operation of the capital equipment.
Responsibilities:

Manage a portfolio of projects that support facility infrastructure upgrades, Safety and Security

* Establishes effective communications within the Project Team to ensure alignment among business objectives, project objectives, and the basis of design

* Leads the development of the roles and responsibilities definitions for the project and ensure each functional team member understands their role and deliverables

* Manages overall project expenditures and schedule to meet business expectations

* Clearly sets overall Project Team direction and expectation

* Interface with Local and the Corporate Business Leadership Team

* Coordinate with key stakeholders (Security, Safety, Facilities, etc..) to implement necessary changes within the organization, with primary objectives to improve facility safety & Security Foundry/Facility efficiency and uptime, as well as present to future floorspace capabilities.

* Ensures data is accurate and meets deadlines prior to initiating detailed design

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical engineering with 8 years of experience in Project Management in a manufacturing and/or petrochemical industry.

* Experience with project management software to control scope, schedule and budget.

* Self-managing, proactive

* Strong verbal and written communications skills

* Excellent teamwork and ability to work across business functions

* Proven skills/experience building high performing cross-functional teams and culture to achieve operational excellence and meet the expectations of internal customers/stakeholders

* Ability to prioritize and multi-task when there are competing demands on you and the team

* Ability to formulate, communicate and execute complex project plans and initiatives

* Strong business and financial acumen

* Excellent interpersonal and critical thinking skills. Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills with the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of leadership, shop floor employees, and support function employees

* Currently holding a Top Secret (TS) SCI with poly clearance

* US Citizenship required

Preferred Qualifications:

SAP

* Project Management Professional (PMP) certification

* Process Safety Management (PSM) experience

* Proficient in MS Project

* Experience utilizing the Front-end loading method of project development

Salary Range: $135,800 - $203,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
