ABOUT THE POSITION
The Area Field Marketing Manager (AFM) is responsible for implementing the Natalie’s strategy and goals into tactics and tangible plans and executing them across a local region/market. The AFM position will be a full-time salaried position commensurate with experience. S/he will assist with managing the local region, drive field marketing strategy, and collaborate with the local sales manager in the territory. This role reports to the Director of Marketing and VP of Marketing and is accountable for growing and retaining the Natalie’s customer base, building brand awareness and loyalty, and supporting product sales within his/her region.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Marketing Management – 35- 45 hours per week. *This is subject to change pending demand and workload.
Source, train, and manage a small team of local Natalie’s Brand Ambassadors to execute local sampling events on a weekly basis.
Research, negotiate, secure, and manage the execution of local events, retail demos, and partnerships.
Manage events and demo activities for region(s) and build a multi-month calendar for team members to activate.
Works with a territory sales rep to provide support on sales initiatives including but not limited to Merchandising, Retail efforts, product drops/local seeding, grand opening events, and territory ride-alongs to gain a deeper understanding of the region and its consumer/end-user needs.
Manage all logistics including product inventory, equipment, and supplies to support local events and in-store demo programming.
Manage activation plans to meet the Field Marketing Objectives of Natalie’s and manage all aspects of the event planning process: pre, during, and post duties including personnel, product delivery/distribution, refrigeration, transportation, supplies, insurance, permits, etc.
Travel and stay onsite at events in the assigned region(s). Occasional travel and hotel stay overnights and weekends required - normally 30% - of the time when needed. This is subject to change due to demand and region expectations.
Maintain a weekly status report and activity tracker to review with the Director of Marketing on a weekly basis.
Manage territory expenses and all reports required for recapping and sharing data within the region.
Drives company business objectives and metrics for growth.
Optimizes the use of company resources, while maintaining a healthy volume of activity in each market. Consistently develops new avenues for resource maximization, consumer impact, and retail sales
Demos and visits premium accounts to educate them about the brand. Develops, maintains, and amplifies our relationship with current accounts through consistent follow-up and marketing support.
Must be willing and able to work at least 2 weekends a month including all major events coordinated.
Manage the cold chain integrity of Natalie’s product at all times. Must manage the security and cleanliness of the Natalie’s cold-storage (Mercedes sprinter) van and all marketing assets in respective territory. AFM is responsible for driving and storage of the company vehicle during all business activities.
Report on products, category, innovation, market conditions, competitive activities, advertising, and promotional trends.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
3+ years of Field Marketing or Brand Marketing experience with budget accountability, ideally with a beverage or CPG company
Must reside in your region and be willing/able to travel as needed.
Strong knowledge of the event and promotional industry within the area and regions you will be focused.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs. Ability to learn and use new technology that is associated with the job
Exceptional planner and project manager with a strong event production background
Valid driver’s license with an excellent driving record.
Must be able to pass a drug screen.
Ability to travel 25%+ of the year within the assigned region and ability to work on weekends, evenings, and holidays.
Must be able to, at a minimum, lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Must be able to drive, maintain and operate a Mercedes Sprinter Van with a refrigerator unit.
Experience managing and leading a field marketing team and managing remote employees
Detail-oriented, extremely organized, and able to juggle multiple tasks in a timely manner, with minimal supervision. Strong business acumen, relationship management skills, customer focus, and drive for results.
