Job Description
Contracts Specialist, Clinical Research Contracts
An enticing opportunity awaits you at MSK. Are you an experienced contracts negotiator passionate about being part of a team dedicated to supporting the research mission of Memorial Sloan Kettering (MSK) or have a background in clinical research and looking to expand your expertise? Are you ready to help shape the future of our technology transfer and clinical research efforts? If so, the Office of Technology Development (OTD) legal team has an exciting opportunity for you!
Role Overview:
- Responsible for managing contracts from creation to execution.
- Review, draft, negotiate, finalize, and amend standard agreement terms and conditions under the close guidance and supervision of MSK legal counsel.
- Upload and activate fully executed agreements and maintain and update relevant contract system(s) and databases.
- Assist with special projects and other job-related activities as assigned, which may include administrative support.
- Support the development and implementation of MSK contract guidance documents, workflows, policies, SOPs, and tools for tracking and managing agreements.
- Support OTD attorneys and other staff in obtaining and coordinating necessary clearances and supplemental information to further contract negotiations.
Key Qualifications:
- At least 2 years experience drafting and negotiating non-disclosure agreements or similar template-based agreements, or two years experience providing clinical research support for an academic research institution, or one year experience negotiating agreements in a healthcare or academic research environment.
Core Skills:
- Demonstrated interest in research, science, or medicine.
- Excellent writing skills and attention to detail. Must be highly proficient in Word including advanced document formatting options, tables, and outlines.
- Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills are necessary to manage multiple contracts simultaneously, track progress, and ensure timely execution of agreements.
- Adaptability & Teamwork: The ability to work in a collaborative team environment and adapt to changing priorities is important.
Additional Information:
- Location: Hybrid with at least two days on-site at 633 Third Avenue, in NYC.
- Schedule: Monday – Friday, 9 am – 5 pm
- Reporting to the Lead Assistant General Counsel
Pay Rage: $66,500.00 - $103,100.00
