Model Risk Governance and Review (MRGR) is a global team of modeling experts within the firm's Risk Management and Compliance organization. The team is responsible for conducting independent model validation and model governance Within MRGR, the Chief Operating Office (COO) supports model risk stakeholders in their review and governance activities, and drives certain governance activities itself, with responsibility for: product ownership, process engineering and software development for model risk technology and analytics; model risk reporting; administration of oversight committees; project management of the review and governance pipeline; coordination of regulatory/audit deliverables including capital stress testing exercises; and general business management.

Job responsibilities

  • Assist in defining product requirements and creating detailed specifications and collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., engineering, design, marketing) to ensure alignment and successful product delivery.
  • Document product features, user stories, and acceptance criteria and conduct testing and other experiments to evaluate the impact of product changes.
  • Maintain and update product documentation and knowledge bases.
  • Work with UX/UI designers to ensure that product designs meet user needs and business goals and conduct usability testing and gather feedback to improve the user experience.
  • Track project timelines and milestones to ensure timely delivery of product features and identify and mitigate risks and issues that may impact the product development process.
  • Identify critical dependencies/issues and present recommendations for resolution.
  • Provide support to user groups by answering product-related questions and resolving issues and assist in creating training materials and conducting training sessions for internal teams and customers.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years of experience in the financial services or fin-tech industry with 3+ years of relevant work experience in Product Management / Development or related capacity
  • Strong, clear, and concise written and verbal communication with ability to edit and prepare executive level communications
  • Intellectual curiosity with a proven ability to learn quickly and high degree of initiative, self-direction, and ability to work well under pressure

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience within large Financial Services firms and basic level of domain knowledge in Model Risk Management
  • Advanced knowledge of the Product Development Lifecycle with proven ability to lead Product Lifecycle activities including discovery, ideation, strategic development, requirements definition and go to market
