The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in database technologies, scripting languages, and Linux/Unix systems. - Develop and maintain scripts using Perl to automate database tasks and system administration.
- Utilize MySQL DBI to interact with MySQL databases programmatically.
- Create and modify VBA code for MS Access to enhance functionality and automate processes.
- Administer Linux systems, including Red Hat and SCO 5.0.6.
- Proficient in using the Linux command line and shell scripting (bash).
- Configure and troubleshoot system-level issues.
- Manage user accounts and permissions.
- Work with ODBC and DAO recordsets to integrate data from various sources.
- Design and implement data migration strategies.
- Create and customize forms in MS Access to facilitate data entry and reporting.
- Ensure forms are user-friendly and efficient.
- Strong understanding of MySQL database administration concepts.
- Proficiency in MS Access, including VBA programming.
- Experience with ODBC and DAO recordsets.
- Solid foundation in Linux/Unix systems, particularly SCO 5.0.6.
- Advanced Perl scripting skills, especially with MySQL DBI.
- Proficiency in Linux command line and shell scripting (bash).
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with database performance tuning and optimization.
- Knowledge of data warehousing and ETL processes.
- Familiarity with other scripting languages (Python, Ruby, etc.).
- Certification in database administration or system administration.
