We're seeking a Transport Planner to join our team in Draycott in the Clay. In this role, you'll be responsible for manual route planning across our UK network, ensuring optimal efficiency for our fleet and drivers. Manual planning is at the core of this role, and we're looking for someone with hands-on experience in this area. Your ability to navigate complex planning challenges will be key to the success of our transport department.
Our transport department operates from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, Monday to Friday, and you'll work alongside another transport planner to cover these hours. Flexibility is key, as logistics requires adaptability.

We're looking to offer a salary of up to £34,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). What you'll do on a typical day:
- Manually route plan for our fleet of 23 vehicles daily, ensuring drivers' hours regulations are met
- Track deliveries using the in-house vehicle tracking systems
- Complete all vehicle resourcing, assuring all vehicles are fully crewed
- Work with agency suppliers to ensure we have a supply of drivers available
- Liaise with the customer ensuring booking times are correct to enable full utilisation of the fleet
What you need to succeed at GXO
- Proven experience of manual transport planning is essential
- Strong geographical knowledge of the UK is essential
- Knowledge of transport legislation, drivers' hours and tachograph
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with experience developing relationships with customers and colleagues
