Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Hardware & Precom Engineer with a strong background in Hardware Design & Pre-Commissioning task for GE Grid Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible to complete all the Hardware Design and Pre-Commissioning tasks, documentation and fill the required test checklists. Ensure development and implementation of procedures, task plans, and processes within assigned scope of work and coordinating interfaces of all disciplines involved may use different criteria to check quality, such as functionality, durability, and safety.

Role & Responsibility

  • In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own work. In-depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
  • Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
  • A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members.
  • Verification of functional operability of all equipment before start-up operation, these include control and protection, communication, VT/CT/DCT connection.
  • verify the operation of all measurement circuits. These include CT- and VT-circuits, Inject each measurement circuit's voltage and current transformer to verify the polarity, functional tests such as testing interfaces, verification of interlocking scheme and SCADA communication.
  • Able to create signals from the source, check that correct operation can be seen on HMI, and or control & protection system.
  • Able to read and understand circuit diagrams, layout drawings and part and cable lists.
  • Understands the operation principles of high voltage components like CT/VT/disconnectors/CBs.

Required Qualification

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering or related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience in electrical engineering projects with proven track record in successfully managing complex projects

Desire qualification

  • Strong oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems. Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs. Established project management skills.
  • Good understanding of engineering management tools (example, Jira, SVN)
  • Willing to travel up to 70% to Projects sites according to Project needs
