As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer CAD - CAM, you will have the possibility of working both on the new product industrialization process (NPI) and on the improvement of legacy processes and products. Your responsability will include to work in a team, to spend a lot of time in the shop to observe the processes that generate defective parts and to collect useful information through dialogue with the operators.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Participate in the concurrent engineering phase by modeling the solutions with the greatest manufacturability to be proposed to the technical management team
  • Design or supervise the development of forming/casting and finishing equipment
  • Manage the SAP portion of acquiring equipment and/or services from external suppliers
  • Manage and develop work cycles on SAP
  • Choose the most suitable tools for machining on a 5-axis machining center and establish their path through programming and simulation
  • Analyze best fist simulation data from polyworks and adapt calibration based on it Analyze the production processes currently used and improve them in the event that they produce defective parts
  • Collaborate with production shop floor personnel to validate processes, tools, and equipment
  • Coordinate with external suppliers, who may be in charge of building production equipment and/or machining operations
  • Pursue continuous improvement for quality and cost reduction in designated areas

Qualification/Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Good knowledge in interpreting technical drawings/specifications and manufacturing processes
  • Modeling capabilities on the Unigraphics NX CAD system
  • Ability to program cutter paths through the use of Unigraphics NX cam software
  • Ability to run cutter path simulations using Vericut software
  • Ability to select the most suitable cutting tools for machining aluminium and magnesium castings
  • Excellent ability to manage technical documentation in the WGM-UG company system
  • Familiarity with castings intended for gearboxes for aeronautical use
  • Knowledge of machining
  • Knowledge of the 3D printing process
  • Work visa in accordance with local regulations
