GS 9 - $74,642.00 - $97,034.00

Key Requirements

Mission Statement:

The mission of the FBI is to protect the American People and uphold the Constitution of the United States.

Physical Demands
  • The work is generally sedentary. Work may also require walking and standing in conjunction with travel to and attendance at meetings and conferences away from the work site. Some employees may carry items weighing less than fifty (50) pounds. The work does not require any special physical effort.
Work Environment
  • Work is performed in an office setting.
Major Duties
  • Conducts in-depth analytical and administrative assignments in support of the FBI's Confidential File Room (CFR) operations
  • Responsible for administration of all aspects of the program to include: management of open/closed files, name checks, utilization of the financial management system, preparation of financial documents and reports concerning quarterly and annual performance, monitoring budget and projecting costs related to the program, tracking the number of sources and case agents in the program
  • Conducts extensive file reviews and surveys required to evaluate regulatory compliance, create administrative reports for management, and provide the tools necessary to effectively administer program oversight, assess program deficiencies and address trends. Identifies potential problem areas and significant accomplishments in order to make recommendations for procedural improvements or policy changes to strengthen the program
  • Composes detailed reports and communication regarding results of analysis for submission to and/or approval by the SAC or FBIHQ Management. Responds to questions concerning information entered into the relative databases; resolves discrepancies or omissions; revises or purges information as necessary in order to ensure consistency, accuracy and conformance with policy
  • Develops strategies to retrieve information and/or locate information necessary to respond to requests concerning the CFR program. Produces reports and graphics necessary to justify/support resource allocation requests as indicated by accomplishments or deficiencies in the program
  • Works under pressure of short deadlines to ensure compliance with time constraints while maintaining program integrity
Qualifications and Evaluations

Specialized Experience (SE):

GS 9: Applicant must possess at least one (1) year of SE equivalent to the GS 7 grade level. SE is defined as follows:
  • Provided support to internal and external entities regarding operational and administrative regulations, procedures, and policies.
  • Assisted with file reviews and surveys to create administrative reports and presentations to management.
  • Responded to questions concerning information to resolve discrepancies and/or revisions.
Education

All degrees must be from an accredited college or university. Education may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:

GS 9: Applicant must have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the above requirements provided you can show foreign education is comparable to that received in an accredited educational institution in the United States.
