Data Center Concierge II
Job Summary
- The role involves representing Equinix as a Data Centre Concierge, responsible for providing reception and security services at the entrance of the data centre
- The job requires acquiring the necessary skills to effectively handle routine tasks and inquiries with limited judgment
- The Data Centre Concierge supports the overall team in maintaining a secure and welcoming environment for all occupants of the data centre
Responsibilities
Reception and Security
- Serves as the primary point of contact for anyone entering the data centre, ensuring a professional and friendly welcome
- Follows standard procedures for checking in visitors, verifying identification, and issuing access badges
- Monitors and controls access to the data centre, enforcing security protocols and procedures
- Responds to basic inquiries and directs visitors to the appropriate areas within the facility
- Maintains a log of visitor activity and communicates any security concerns to the appropriate personnel
- Collaborates with the security team to ensure a safe and secure environment for all occupants
Customer Support
- Provides basic assistance and guidance to customers and visitors, addressing routine inquiries and directing them to the appropriate resources
- Coordinates customer visits and schedules, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
- Assists with tracking and reporting on customer inquiries and issues, ensuring timely resolution
- Supports customers in accessing and utilizing data centre amenities and services
- Conducts basic orientation tours for new customers, familiarizing them with the data centre layout and facilities
Administrative Support
- Performs administrative tasks such as answering incoming phone calls, responding to emails, and maintaining records
- Coordinates with vendors for the delivery of supplies and services, generating purchase requisitions and managing invoicing
- Assists in maintaining cleanliness and stocking of customer care areas and conference rooms
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure tasks are coordinated and completed efficiently
- Builds positive relationships with local vendors to support customer administrative needs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent education.
- Previous experience in a customer service or receptionist role is preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with customers and visitors
- Ability to handle routine tasks and inquiries with limited judgment
- Basic computer skills for administrative tasks such as email communication and record-keeping
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
