What you'll do:

The MFG Sr Engineer will lead the development and implementation of robust manufacturing processes, as well as the associated documentation, to ensure the successful launch of new and/or improved switchgear and transformer products and processes. She/He will collaborate with other functions and suppliers to facilitate efficient industrialization and to drive schedule performance while meeting safety, quality, and cost expectations.

Job Requirements:

• Defining competencies required for successful performance and ensures that employees receive appropriate motivation, recognition and training development opportunities for continuing career growth.

• Establishing priorities and assign work to appropriate team members, monitors performance and resolve conflicts among team members.
• Defining goals and objectives consistent with business strategy by investigation information sources and by working with key individuals.
• Evaluating employee's performance and provide regular feedback (formally and informally) regarding strengths and development needs.
• Developing employees and assists in preparing them for new assignments and roles, providing learning for all employees. Interviews and selects new employees when vacancies occur.
• Disseminating information to employees, ensuring a high level of communication among the group.
• Ensuring that employees are aware of and follow all organizational policies and procedures, investigating and addressing violations in accordance with policy and HR guidance.
• Maintaining professional and ethical standards at all times.
• Supervising product, plant and manufacturing engineering projects and initiatives with regard to feasibility, cost, and timeliness.
• Participating in annual budget preparation and champions capital expenditures project planning and budgeting.
• Supervising the qualification of new products and raw material to be incorporated into manufacturing using PROLaunch as appropriate.
• Supporting development of accurate switchgear and transformer cost structure via supervision of bills of materials
• Monitoring capital expenditures in order to insure control within budgetary limitations.
• Leading decision-making involving new and existing product lines to assess equipment/capacity needs.
• Participating in new product development projects following ProLaunch, including manufacturing documentation (PFMEA, Control plan, Work instructions,SW&WI, Punclist), routing.
* Leading Product Trial Runs (PTR) in complacence with production planning, ensuring all process and tooling steps are ready for mass production
• Establishing an environment conducive to continuous improvement in manufacturing; recommends alternatives for improving production methods, equipment, operating procedures and working conditions.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree on a related engineering department

At least 4-6 years similar experience

Skills:

• Technical knowledge of electro-mechanical components and assemblies.
• Working knowledge of part/assembly drawings and bills of materials.
• Experience in new product development and industrialization.
• Experience with design of production tooling and assembly/test fixture development.
• Working knowledge of basic quality tools, such as, capability studies and gage R&Rs.
• Knowledge of Six Sigma, VA/VE, and LEAN manufacturing tools.
• Experience with shop floor control processes and technology (barcoding, product/process traceability).
• Working knowledge of core feeder processes (molding, stamping, turning, machining, brazing/welding).
• PDM-Creo-Enovio / Model manager (CAD)
• Knowledge in ERP Systems SAP
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing techniques - i.e. value stream mapping, one piece flow, etc.
• Understanding of problem-solving methodologies used in determining root cause and formulating corrective action(s) D, root cause analysis, Process Failure Mode Effect Analysis
• Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality processes (i.e., ISO9001 etc).
• Proficiency in MiniTab; knowledge of Computer Aided Design / Computer Aided Manufacturing.
• Experience in the Assembly and testing of complex electromechanical products
