Develop and drive Diageo's Sustainability Initiatives with emphasis on Water, Carbon, Waste/Recycling & wider Sustainability Initiatives across all Tequila & Mezcal Category in Mexico, including Manufacture & Agriculture Operations, Expansion Projects, Procurement, Logistics, Planning, Packaging, Brand Change & Innovation, & Finance.

About the Role:
  • Provide strategic and technical direction/support for operations, expansion, global and local engineering, procurement, finance, planning, logistics, and the wider sustainability teams to identify sustainable innovation opportunities, research programs, and implement projects to deliver the strategy.
  • Engage with cross-functional team members through the Category to ensure the accurate adoption of initiatives and unblock challenges. This includes Operational teams, Managers, Senior Managers, and Directors.
  • Lead the End-to-End process for project management, including but not limited to the identification, creation, approval, implementation, reporting, and closure of Sustainability projects. Project development
  • Ensure implementation of market/region sustainability programs to achieve impact reductions at set achievements across the different environmental focus areas (Water efficiency, Carbon Reduction, Regenerative Agriculture, Sustainable Packaging and Agriculture, Circular economy, etc.). Manage (where it needs it) key sustainability strategic project implementations and project management activities.
  • Close integration with the Sustainability Program Managers to develop, design, and report Sustainability initiatives. Agreeing on important targets through engagement with own and third-party operations sites and global teams to drive required improvements.
  • Built the Sustainability Culture and Capabilities, driving the required environmental sustainabilityplan, including employee education and engagement.
  • Ensure compliance with budget management and contract management.

Experience required/Languages:
  • Graduate with 5 -10 years of experience on management & engagement roles, environmental compliance & Sustainability initiatives. Experience in the food or brewing/spirits industry preferred. In-depth knowledge of manufacturing operations, supply chains, engineering, and customer/suppliers engagement
  • Must have a good understanding of the scale & complexity of the Tequila business and Mexico's environmental regulations and regulated markets.
  • Proficiency in environmental capability framework for Environmental sustainability, Carbon & Energy, Water and Wastewater, Solid waste and resource use, Specific aspects to air, land, and water, and tequila biodiversity.
  • Excellent project management, program management, communication, and interpretation of complex environmental data and trends.
  • engagement and communication skills, and the experience of mentoring and influencing partners for success.
  • A proven track record in managing people and or small teams, projects, and cross-functional team working. (Project management style)
  • Fluid in written and verbal Spanish and English language is a must
