DESCRIPTION
We are looking for a talented Manufacturing Shop Director - Machining to join the Jamestown Engine Plant team on-site in Jamestown, NY .
The Manufacturing Shop Director - Machining role oversees the machining division of the Jamestown Engine Plant (JEP), which spans over 500,000 square feet and includes approximately 225 employees. It involves machining critical engine components for JEP and other facilities, setting a strategic vision, and creating a roadmap to achieve it. As part of the Plant Operation Team and reporting to the Plant Manager, this role also contributes to plant-wide safety policies and programs for the entire one million square foot facility, which employs over 1,400 people and generates $2.9B annually.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Provide manufacturing leadership and drive operational improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Manage, develop, mentor, and coach talent to enhance manufacturing and supply chain capabilities.
- Champion continuous improvement projects aligned with Cummins Operation System and Functional Excellence.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to meet customer and business requirements.
- Align with internal business partners to support enterprise manufacturing and supply chain initiatives.
- Review key performance indicators and operational trends to validate root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Intervene to address supply chain failures as necessary.
- Prepare and manage the annual operating plan, ensuring alignment with supply chain initiatives and Cummins values, including diversity and community involvement.

Education/Experience
- College, university, or equivalent degree required.
- A significant level of relevant work experience, including managerial and budgetary experience, required.
- Demonstrated expertise in machining, technical, and manufacturing processes, with a proven track record of driving operational excellence in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate, manage, mentor, and develop high-performing teams in manufacturing and supply chain environments.
- Experience leading continuous improvement projects aligned with operational systems and functional excellence to achieve strategic business goals.
