About the role:

This is a lab services planning role that is part of the Critical and Specialized Services job function serving a key life sciences research and development client site. This group provides technical maintenance services in critical client environments.

What you'll do:

LIS

  • Management of GIC laboratory and MRU instrumentation
  • Manage all secondary standards and deliveries to the corporate standards lab or other off-site vendors
  • Coordinate all IT support service
  • Management of ordering and replenishing consumables and uniforms
  • Assist in regulatory and safety audits
  • GMARS Data and Work Order Management for GIC laboratory and MRU instrumentation
  • Third party vendor management for GIC laboratory and MRU instrumentation
  • New Equipment Installation for GIC laboratory and MRU instrumentation
  • Retirement of Equipment for GIC laboratory and MRU instrumentation
  • Trackwise submissions

Planner

  • Work closely with Operations, and Maintenance personnel to coordinate routine and non-routine maintenance activities to ensure the continuous, optimal operation of facilities and equipment with minimal downtime.
  • Assist facilities maintenance in developing and implementing maintenance programs including PM, Predictive Maintenance, and Spare Parts Inventory Control through Computerized Maintenance Management System (GMARS).
  • Collect and organize technical data from maintenance personnel, equipment manufacturers, equipment users, contractors, and engineering personnel to aid supervisor in the execution of maintenance activities.

What You'll Need:

  • High School Diploma, GED, or trade school diploma with 4-6 years of job-related experience. In lieu of a diploma, a combination of experience and education will be considered.
  • Requires specialist knowledge, training and experience related to laboratory instrumentation to include selected technique groups such as HPLC, GC, Liquid Handling, Automation, Optical Systems, Biology and Chemistry Analyzers.
  • Experience with GMARS or similar software strongly preferred.
  • Meet the physical requirements of this role including stooping, standing, walking, climbing stairs/ladders, and the ability to lift/carry heavy loads of 50 lbs. or more.
  • Understanding of existing procedures and standards to solve slightly complex problems.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Office products. Examples include Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Strong organizational skills with an inquisitive mindset.
  • Advanced math skills. Ability to calculate complicated figures such as percentages, fractions, and other financial-related calculations.
