Manager, Material Supply Flexible Packaging & Seasoning

Overview

The Manager, Flexible Packaging & Seasoning Material Supply will be fully accountable for managing planning activities to support Frito-Lay U.S. business initiatives. This role engages with broader procurement team as well as, cross-functional partners and Supplier teams.

Responsibilities

  • Manage execution of business initiatives and inventory planning for flexible packaging and seasoning supporting FLUS as well as provide continuous improvement feedback and career development for direct reports.
  • Analyze and ensure flawless execution and implementation of all business proposal initiatives related to material supply. This involves obtaining the specifications of the item(s) from R&D. Communicate all changes and new business plans to producing plants as well as suppliers. Support base business; minimize system inventory and obsolescence while driving overall productivity.
  • Provide leadership and direction in multi-functional taskforce meetings, conference calls, etc. to develop strategies to execute business change with suppliers that leverage productivity, best practices and vendor managed inventories.
  • Ensure sufficient inventory at suppliers and plants during emergencies or other non-routine shipments. Requires strong communication and prioritization skills. Assure back-up supplier supply capability.

Ensure accurate inventory quantities and timely delivery of materials to execute business change and new product rollout.
  • Develop and execute material run out strategies to minimize material obsolescence related to business change.
    Develop strategic business partnerships with suppliers leveraging integrated business systems, best practices and vendor managed inventory.
  • Establish vendor service criteria and develop strategic plans to address future business. Define performance metrics and scorecard supplier's performance and identify, lead, or support special projects ensuring on-time execution.
    Develop productivity initiatives that deliver continuous improvement.
    Interact closely with Marketing, Marketing Services, Product Supply, and R&D to support innovation and productivity initiatives. Develop plans and action steps that ensure flawless executive of new business initiatives.

  • Travel required: 10-15% travel required

    Compensation & Benefits:

    • The expected compensation range for this position is between $102,800 - $172,100 based on a full-time schedule.
    • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary.
    • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually.
    • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's Degree required - MBA preferred
    • 5+ years of experience in Supply Chain role (manufacturing, product supply, co-pack, etc) or applicable experience
    • Working knowledge of material planning. Knowledge of supply chain fundamentals and experience applying these fundamentals
    • Results oriented, innovative thinker with a focus on continuous process improvement
    • Strong strategic and analytical skills with the ability to focus on the big picture, as well as manage details
    • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills, and collaboration abilities across all levels of the organization
    • Must be able to multi-task, as well as shift priorities
    • Effective in working in teams, which is essential in working with suppliers, Frito-Lay plants, co-packers and other HQ functions
    • Solid organizational skills and project management experience
    • People management experience
    • Must have the indefinite right to work in the U.S.
