Systems Engineer & Integrator (NASA Cargo Mission Contract - Johnson Space Center)

Description

Leidos has an excellent opportunity for a Systems Engineer & Integrator to work on NASA's Cargo Mission Contract (CMC). This position is located on-site at the Johnson Space Center in Houston, Texas and supports the EVA and Human Surface Mobility Program (EHP). This role works closely with the Project Lead Systems Engineer and project systems engineering team, performing systems engineering and technical integration across the lifecycle of the project in concert with internal and external organizations.

US Citizenship or US Permanent Residency and the ability to successfully obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance are required.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide support and expertise in planning, tailoring, managing, executing, and documenting Systems Engineering and Integration (SEI) activities throughout the project lifecycle.

• Lead and/or execute the definition, flow-down, assessment, and documentation of project requirements, interfaces, and verifications.

• Lead and/or execute SE&I-centric activities for a project to include: architecture definition and functional flows, lifecycle review planning, trade studies, critical path management, and risk management.

• Develop, evaluate, and manage the SEI processes of the project office to ensure they are functioning properly, effectively integrated within the team, and evolve the system through the project lifecycle.

• Develop and manage team collaboration strategies to ensure effective and efficient systems engineering and technical integration in concert with internal, external, and international organizations.

• Implement effective and stream-lined use of Systems Engineering tools and techniques.

• Advise the customer, Project Manager, and Lead Systems Engineer on Systems Engineering strategies and the strengths and weaknesses of various approaches as they apply to the EVA Development project office.

• Apply experience in verification / certification to help refine review processes; ensure the right workflow; manage the tool dashboard; and report on overall progress on verification activities.

• Serve as integrated testing POC among multi-disciplinary groups; define specific roles/responsibilities for integrated tests; report on testing schedules; ensure compliance with service contract and internal processes.

• Develop EVA Dev digital engineering strategy document; provide training on usage of DOORs, MagicDraw, EVE, and Cameo Web Viewer; manage data access and configuration management of digital engineering tools / platforms.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor of Science in Engineering and 4+ years of relevant experience with systems engineering
• Knowledge of and / or experience with flight hardware to include testing at the project or program level
• Solid understanding of systems engineering, including: requirements, interfaces, verifications, and integrated performance
• Experience in test integration in EVA, life support or human systems
• Familiarity with DOORS, Jama, and Jira software applications
• Superior communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams and customers
• Experience presenting technical and financial project status to large groups

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with ISS or other NASA Human Spaceflight Program processes for hardware development and certification, anomaly resolution, configuration management, quality assurance, design, requirements/verification, materials
• MagicDraw experience
• Experience working with international partners

Pay Range:

Pay Range $81,250.00 - $146,875.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
