Employee Communications Manager

This role is responsible for developing, implementing, and sustaining F5's Strategic Communications programs, connecting the company's 6,000+ employees to F5's company strategy while also supporting key employee communications from areas of the company including Technology Services and Security.

This senior level professional will work with executive leaders and colleagues across global functions to create comprehensive, engaging communications that generate shared understanding, alignment, and action across our global organization.

The successful candidate is both creative and structured in their approach and has the ability to transform complex information into engaging content. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, a focus on teamwork and collaboration, and a global viewpoint are essential. They set best practices for global internal communications practices, provide thought leadership and counsel, and bring a fresh approach to create new ways to drive engagement. The candidate will have exceptional attention to detail, a high degree of business acumen, and a strategic mindset. The ability to create strategic programs and also execute plan elements is essential.

This role is based in Seattle, WA, and is expected to participate in our office-based culture.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Leads comprehensive, multi-layered employee communications plans that support F5's business objectives and help advance the company strategy.
  • Create, launch, and sustain communications around F5's Strategy and connected programs across digital and traditional channels and events.
  • Plan, manage and execute employee communications around our company transformation including cyber security and internal technology solutions.
  • Provide communication counsel to senior leaders for company announcements around Strategy and Transformation, security, and employee facing technologies.
  • Consult with leaders and teams to position and align communications efforts on our strategy and strategic priorities.
  • Creates processes to increase efficiency and help cross train other teammates.
  • Effectively use data to evaluate and inform future work.

Other Responsibilities:
  • Writing, editing, strategic planning, and other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Experience communicating technology or other complex subject to employee audiences
  • Experience in collaborating and influencing global teams with diverse cultures
  • Proven experience in working with C-level leaders on large, creative programs
  • Excellent research, writing and editorial skills, including development of original content and the ability to construct concise and well-written narratives
  • Strong strategic planning and execution experience, including measurement
  • Passionate storyteller and messaging guru
  • Change management experience is a plus
  • Technology experience is a plus

Qualifications
  • BA degree in communications or similar work experience
  • 8+ years' experience internal or employee communications
  • Entrepreneurial spirit with a focus on collaboration and relationship building
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to execute tactically

The annual U.S. base pay range for this position is: $114,880.00 - $172,320.00

F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5's differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
